Projects in Development at Studio-Connect

EFFICIENT CUSTOM LIBRARIES AND SOFTWARE FOR YOUR BUSINESS

Studio-Connect is currently working on a couple of projects in addition to custom site and application development. These projects include code libraries for targeted audiences or purposes and software applications for targeted businesses.

We seek opportunities to create software in addition to regular development because 1) We enjoy the process and 2) We want to help businesses innovate and grow with technology.

The following in-house projects are currently under development and/or testing:

AGENCY BUILDER

The Agency Builder project is a customer relationship management (commonly called "CRM") application created specifically for Independent Insurance Agents. Agency Builder tracks client data such as address and phone number and stores them in client accounts for query. It also stores Agent and Customer Service Representative data via login accounts. Quotes and sales are tracked through a fluid interface that uses AJAX callback functions to grab customer data from the database and insert them into the quote. Sales are tallied on a date-to-date basis and totals calculated. Finally, general service call categories are used to help track client calls for service. This data-mining portion of the application can be used to track trends in service calls, call volume, and training needs.

Agency Builder is currently being used by The James Bond Agency, Inc. Our target date for a commercial release is early '08, and we hope to have a desktop version as well later that year.

STUDIO-CONNECT COMPONENT FRAMEWORK

This project can be summarized as a set of objects derived from the Gimp Toolkit (GTK+) that can be used to quickly port interfaces to the web.

The original purpose of this project was to augment the features in Agency Builder. We hope to release a desktop version of Agency Builder next year, and would like the final web-based product to mirror the desktop version in the GUI.

As for the SCCF, there are no plans to use it at this time outside of the purpose stated above. If time permits, it may possibly be made into a publicly available library for porting GTK+ applications to the web.

As for both projects, we will have screenshots coming soon!
